Marin LAFCo Public Meeting Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 6:00 pm at the Inverness Firehouse

Four logos probably representing Marin LAFCo, North Marin Water District, and Inverness Public Utility District.

The Marin Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) is currently working with North Marin Water District (NMWD) and Inverness Public Utility District (IPUD) on correcting boundary issues involving both districts.  The West Marin areas involved are located in Inverness and Marshall.

  • The Inverness is located along the western shore of Tomales Bay, extends along Sir Francis Drake Blvd. from south of the downtown area of Inverness at Dream Farm Road  to the northern boundary just past the Seahaven area with both the Tomales Bay State Park and the Point Reyes National Seashore to its west.
  • The Marshall area is generally along the east shore of Tomales Bay from Grand Canyon Road to approximately ½ mile south of Clark Road.

The boundary corrections involve an eventual application to LAFCo to correctly identify each parcel in those areas that will be included in this effort.

All three agencies want to make it clear that if you are currently connected to water service from either IPUD or NMWD, this application process will not impact that service, but will help correct the boundary lines on our service maps to clearly show who is serving each parcel.

As part of this process and prior to an application being submitted LAFCo, NMWD, and IPUD want to invite you to a community meeting to learn more about this issue, ask any questions you have and help all three agencies understand any concerns you may have so, if needed, they can be addressed in the upcoming application.  The meeting will be on October 8 at 6pm at the Inverness Firehouse at 50 Inverness Way.

Should you have any questions please contact Marin LAFCo at 415-578-2304.
